INDIANAPOLIS (July 6, 2017) – FirstPerson Managing Director and General Counsel Katy Stowers has been named one of 2017’s Most Influential Women in Benefit Advising.
The national honor from Employee Benefit Adviser puts Stowers in a select group of 30 women working in the largely male-dominated profession. She and the other women named to the list were recognized for both personal and professional achievements, including finding substantial savings for employer clients and strengthening their organizations’ bottom line.
“Katy came to us as a highly skilled ERISA/ACA attorney. She has added comprehensive benefits advising to her wheelhouse,” said FirstPerson founder and CEO Bryan Brenner. “Her technical knowledge and genuine care for clients is the winning combination that exponentially increases her value to FirstPerson, to all we serve, and the industry at large.”
The article accompanying the list highlighted Stowers’ impact on the firm’s bottom line, noting that she oversees FirstPerson’s 29 largest accounts and plays a key role in the success of the $11 million company. It also acknowledged her leadership and innovation, saying, “Under Stowers’ leadership, an internal Operations Task Force meets biweekly on ways to improve the company, including better support during the open enrollment season.”
