Anthem Offers New Imaging Cost Comparison Service
Anthem has a variety of resources available to help health care consumers make the most cost efficient choices. Their latest service will aid members in finding the best locations and prices for CT scans and MRIs. Here's how the service works:
- The member's doctor will call Anthem to precertify the imaging service.
- The doctor will get information about the member's most cost-effective, quality locations.
- If the doctor doesn't refer the member to one of the suggested locations, an Anthem Health Outreach Specialist will call the member to notify them of locations that may cost less money.
- The member has the choice to follow their doctor's referral, or choose to make an appointment at a location that may be more cost efficient.
Members can also locate cost and quality information for CT scans and MRIs through the Anthem Care Comparison at anthem.com to get an idea of what a service may cost ahead of time.
