Healthy Employees - A Competitive Advantage

In 2014, employers with less than 100 employees will have the option of offering them a health plan or "dumping" them into an insurance exchange created by the recent health care reform legislation.
I have a hunch that most employers will choose not to "dump" their employees into an exchange. The employer-employee relationship is much larger than simply the health benefits provided by an employer. Though there may be some financial advantage for employers to drop health coverage, there will also be significant advantages for employers to stay connected to their employees through the benefits they provide. Employers will continue to need healthy, productive employees to create and deliver their products and services - which in itself should keep employers in the health business.
Most employers know that their employees are the key differentiator for their business, and that supporting their health is important. Which leads me back to my hunch - that employers will look for ways to continue to provide health coverage as a way to keep their key differentiators productive and healthy.
