Health Care Reform: Get the Big Picture

During the final week of debate leading up to the March 23 Senate vote, Capitol Hill was eagerly awaiting the Congressional Budget Office's (CBO) appraisal of the cost of the reform bill and the impact to the federal deficit. At that time, the CBO estimated that the policies would reduce the federal deficit by $140 billion during the decade, ending 2019.
