We hope that you had a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving. As we get back into the swing of things, we wanted to share a helpful video from the Kaiser Family Foundation that lightheartedly explains health care reform in less than 10 minutes.

 

It's not perfect; the video lacks the true cost of HCR changes for employers and glosses over some of the more difficult issues. But it's easy to understand and it's even funny!

Other highlights from last week include HHS setting medical loss ratio provisions consistent with previous recommendations. PPACA Section 2018 requires health insurance companies to use at least 80 percent of collected premiums for individual and small group plans and for larger group plans, that requirement goes up to 85 percent. If health insurance companies don't meet these requirements, they will have to pay the difference in rebates to enrollees/employer sponsors. You can read more about it here.
