Elections and Health Care Reform: Is anything changing?

The elections that took place on Tuesday, November 2^nd seemed like they might change the future of health care reform - especially from the sound of the commercials and ads surrounding the candidates. But in actuality, it’s unlikely that much will change in the next two years, at least on a federal level.

So what should you do? Use this opportunity to educate your employees about their benefits! Health care reform and the amount of attention it’s getting in the media can work to your advantage. Consider some of these strategies in the coming months:

• Send out a Benefit Statement that has a bottom line value of the total compensation each employee receives as an employee of your company.
• Compile a payroll stuffer with HCR changes that will be happening at your company as of January 1st.
  
• Make a document with upcoming HCR changes available on your intranet site if employees are interested.
