Anthem and Suburban Health Organization (SHO) Network Update
12/03/2010
If you recall earlier in November, we sent out an email announcing that Anthem and SHO were negotiating to renew their network contracts. Unfortunately, Anthem and SHO were unable to reach a contract agreement.
At this time, the following hospitals will no longer be in the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield network effective January 1, 2011:
- Hancock Regional Hospital
- Riverview Hospital
- Hendricks Regional Hospital
- Westview Hospital
- Henry County Hospital
- Witham Health Services
The contract termination affects those who are enrolled in Anthem's HMO, PPO, Traditional, and Medicare Advantage plans. To view a list of hospitals that remain in Anthem's network, visit www.anthem.com or call the customer service number found on the back of your Anthem ID card.
Please keep in mind that doctors affiliated with SHO might also be affected, even if they do not practice at the hospitals listed above. We recommend advising your employees to confirm that their doctor is in-network with Anthem prior to their appointment. This will ensure that their office visit is not considered out-of-network.
If you would like more information, SHO shares additional details about the negotiation on their website:
