Bryan BrennerA Culture of Giving Back

This time of year, our office is abuzz with activity. There are many early mornings and trips to Starbucks! It's almost a routine to put your blinders on and focus on the tasks at hand.

But a few weeks ago, several team members and I took our Saturday to go "Over the Edge" for Special Olympics Indiana. Special Olympics holds this annual event to raise money and awareness for their organization. Because of our generous employees, customers, and partners, we were able to raise more than $10,000 through this event alone!

Mike BensiIt's That Time of Year

We've started the open enrollment road tour this month and we are getting to visit some great clients. One in particular is going through an interesting open enrollment season. They are eliminating their PPO plan and going to an all HSA-based program.

No big deal you say? What if I told you they currently had 80% of their workforce enrolled in the PPO? You don't have to be a seasoned HR professional to realize that this move could be difficult. That's why our client has a clear strategy built around their decision.

  • Send a handwritten thank you note
  • Acknowledge employees for their unique contribution
  • Provide a "gift" day off near the holidays
  • Organize a luncheon or holiday party

Paul AshleyEach November, thousands of men around the world don moustaches in an effort to bring awareness to men's health issues through a movement called "Movember."

This year, a group of FirstPerson guys, also known as "Mo Bros," have joined the movement (with the support of the ladies) - committing to sprout facial hair to raise vital funds for the Prostate Cancer and LIVESTRONG foundations. So, if you notice our FirstPerson gents looking a little goofy this month, just remember it's for a great cause!
