| March Madness: Bad for Business?

Following the many rules and regulations of HIPAA can be tedious, but here are some simple things that you and your employees can do to stay compliant in the office:

  • Lock your computer when you step away
  • Keep smartphones password protected
  • Encrypt information on flash drives, using a software like TrueCrypt
  • Keep proprietary documents locked away when not in use
  • Create a written plan for handling proprietary information

Do you know how many of your employees set their responsibilities aside long enough to fill out their NCAA brackets?  Probably not - but each year there are stories which would lead you to believe that the number is high enough to greatly reduce productivity during this tourney time. 

However, is the glass really half empty? It seems significant energy and positive morale is also created as employees cheer on their favorite teams. Our take: Make the most of this high-energy month by launching a new wellness campaign!
