For the last several years, wellness has been the buzz word in our industry. We have worked very hard with many of you developing wellness programs within your business aimed at changing the health of the employees. This article discusses the Well-Being Index, which measures the total health of survey participants including their physical, emotional, and social health. In just over one month, the new interim final rules will require new private health plans to cover evidence-based preventive services and eliminate cost-sharing requirements for such services. Group health plans beginning on or after September 23, 2010 must cover preventive services and may not charge copayments, coinsurance, or deductibles for these services when delivered by a network provider.
