About FirstPerson

The mission of FirstPerson is to maximize and simplify benefit investments by organizing and connecting resources and information. We're not a typical employee benefits firm. FirstPerson puts people first - both yours and our own.

FirstPerson is a privately held company created in 2010 after a merger between two Indianapolis firms – Benefit Associates, owned by Bryan Brenner, and Benefit Consultants, owned by Russ Stuart. Both firms have long histories in Indianapolis. Bryan Brenner started Benefit Associates in 1997, and Russ Stuart started Benefit Consultants in 1980.

The name FirstPerson was chosen to reflect a commitment to working one-on-one with clients. The firm now ranks as one of central Indiana’s largest employee benefits service firms and has been honored as a 2010 Indiana Company to watch by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. FirstPerson was also selected as an Indiana Best Place to Work in 2010 and 2011.

Our clients are served by 38 associates in a team environment where specialists provide service in the areas of consulting, analytics, communication, wellness, implementation, and ongoing customer service (claims, eligibility, COBRA, compliance, etc.). FirstPerson serves more than 200 group customers in almost all 50 states.
